The Olympus DS-75, DS-65 and DS-55: High-quality multi-format recording and playback at your fingertips
Hamburg, 25 August 2008 – Olympus expands its DS range of premium voice recorders with the introduction of the DS-55, DS-65 and DS-75. Chiefly aimed at business users, these new models each feature easy file management and improved sound quality. The DS-75 now even boasts linear PCM recording capabilities. Memory capacity has received a significant boost. There is now four times the space available compared to the corresponding predecessor models – so there’s plenty of room for storing dictations, music, podcasts or other recordings for business needs like meetings or lectures. Operation is intuitive and a voice guidance feature even enables you to be “talked through” the menus. These powerful newcomers to the DS range will be available from late September 2008.
The DS-55, DS-65 and DS-75 are perfect pocket companions for busy businesspeople. Lectures, meetings or personal notes can be captured and reviewed with ease. And between appointments users can relax to their favourite music or podcast.
Developed with the visually impaired in mind, besides featuring tactile buttons, all three models boast improved voice guidance systems. This not only allows for the audible navigation through menus – instant voice information about battery levels is also available.
Other clever yet practical features include: index and temp marks as well as podcast bookmarking to quickly find desired locations; five separate storage folders for simplified file management; and a customisable playback speed of 50-200%. Furthermore, the recording monitor lets you check levels on the clear, backlit LCD to ensure best results. Also included with each new model is Euphony sound enhancement technology for more realistic playback, a versatile DVM zoom microphone and a remote control (optional for DS-55).
DS-75
Packing 4GB of storage space, the powerful DS-75 boasts a huge memory for recording more than a thousand hours of voice in literally hundreds of files. Coming in classic black, this model allows recordings to be saved in both the WMA file format or in the extra-high quality PCM file type. The option of manual input level adjustment during recording provides users with additional control. Furthermore, the stylishly leather case included with this model easily converts to a table-top stand for the ultimate in recording convenience.
DS-65
The DS-65 finds just the right balance between price and performance. Fill its 2GB of file storage space with MP3s, audiobook files or podcasts and record your notes and meetings in the especially versatile WMA format for a stress-free audio processing experience. This blue-coloured model comes complete with a handy carry case.
DS-55
Boasting an elegant silver exterior, the extremely affordable DS-55 provides exceptional audio quality and 1GB of memory. It comes with a protective case so that it can be taken anywhere.
